Youth Action for Nature Digital Community

<aside> 💡 The BBCWT Youth Action digital community is a space for people aged 16-25 to connect and network with each other, to take action for nature in Birmingham and the Black Country. We want this space to be fun, safe, and helpful for everyone who joins. To help with that, we’ve laid out some guidelines below. Everyone in the community will also have access to the details of our safeguarding lead once they join, and can contact them with any concerns or questions they may have.

We do

✔️ Treat everyone in the community with respect, understanding that we all have different experiences in life.

✔️ Stimulate conversations, be respectful of opinions and views different to ours, and refrain from personal attacks.

✔️ Give credit to the originators of ideas, and value each other’s contributions.

✔️ Operate with a culture of consent, asking someone publicly if we can message them, and accepting if people choose not to reply.

✔️ Moderate what’s being shared, only posting things that revolve around the theme of the community - taking action for nature!

We don’t

❌ Discriminate or express prejudice against people for who they are or what they believe.

❌ Engage in harmful behaviour towards each other when we disagree, using it instead as an opportunity to inform our own views.

❌ Share other people’s posts or information without permission, or criticise each other’s ideas in non-constructive ways.

❌ Harass or repeatedly reach out to people, or use the server or messaging feature inappropriately.

❌ We do not send offensive, threatening or distressing content to each other.

<aside> 🚫 We have a zero tolerance policy against bullying, bigotry, and discrimination in the group - all accusations will be looked into and individuals may be removed from our digital community server if they are found to not be following these guidelines.
