At Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust, we want to young people to feel heard, understood, and empowered in protecting the natural world. As part of this, we’ve created a digital community on Discord to help you connect with other young people aged 16-25, develop the skills you feel you need to take action for nature, and get involved or lead on initiatives in your community. As a Trust, we’ll be facilitating discussions, sharing resources and opportunities, and supporting you on your journey!

How does it work?

  1. Once you apply to join the Discord community, someone will look over your application and will send you an email invitation to join our server. Please make sure to honestly answer why you want to join the space - if you don’t answer this, you might be asked for a bit more detail via email before you’re invited.
  2. Once you receive an invite, follow the instructions to sign up - it will ask for a name, email address and date of birth to create your account. You should receive an email to verify your account, and then you’re good to go! If you have any issues, feel free to give me a shout at [email protected] and I’ll see how I can help.
  3. Once you’re in, you’ll see a list of channels on the side. These are different places to talk about different things, so have a look through and feel free to respond to posts.
  4. Start by popping over to #introductions and tell us a bit about yourself!
